Energy Smart BYOC

Pilot Program

Enjoy 2,100 miles* of free driving per year by earning a monthly $7 incentive

The Energy Smart Bring Your Own Charger (BYOC) program encourages Entergy New Orleans EV drivers to charge their vehicles overnight on weekdays between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and any time on weekends or holidays in exchange for a monthly incentive of $7. Incentives are paid quarterly. You have the option to receive payments through PayPal, Venmo or paper check. All battery electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles are eligible to participate in this program, and customers can enroll multiple EVs to their account.

Scroll down for the application. If you have already enrolled, you can access the Customer Portal by clicking this button. You can enroll additional EVs on your account through the Customer Portal.

To enroll in the program, you will need to:

Have an active Entergy New Orleans residential electric account.

Charge your electric vehicle using a Level 2 charger or 240-volt charging cable.

Charge overnight on weekdays between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next day.

Charge off-peak at least three times per month.

Charge any time during weekends or holidays.

There are times when you may have an urgent need to charge your EV. With BYOC, you may charge up to three times each month outside of the periods listed above without losing your incentive for that month.

Be sure to have this information handy to enroll:

Entergy New Orleans account number.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

A picture of your vehicle's charging timer or smart charger schedule programmed to charge overnight (between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next day).

EV charger make, model and serial number (optional).

We recommend starting the application on a mobile device or tablet so that you can take the picture of your schedule while completing your application.

*2,100 free miles based on 3 miles/kWh, at $0.1196/kWh. Actual results will vary.
